In just the past few months, we have seen news of mosques and Islamic schools across the nation being violently attacked. These are sober reminders that our organizations must be equipped to cut the risk of such events and be ready to respond when they do occur, in order to save precious lives. In late 2012, CAIR-WA surveyed close to 40 mosques and Islamic schools across Washington state and found that 2 out of 3 do not have mechanisms in place and would not be ready at all if an attack were to happen. It has been compiled from many expert sources, including our law enforcement partners at the local and federal levels, and other security professionals.
