Are you curious about your rights as an employee, student, or traveler? CAIR-WA conducts Know Your Rights presentations in each of these contexts! Our gratitude goes to the approx. 1,000 community members who graced last night's banquet with your presence and joined our growing list of supporters.

Thanks to your generosity, we were able to raise over $260,000 to defend civil rights, empower American Muslims and promote mutual understanding. We will continue to work toward raising our 2017 budget of $500,000 so that we can scale our work to meet the challenges and grasp the opportunities before us so that in the future, not far from now, American Muslim children can grow up with the same hopes and dreams as any young American. Your support will help CAIR-WA defend hundreds of local Muslims’ civil rights every year. train hundreds of media speakers to change millions of hearts and minds, train hundreds of local Muslims in political engagement so lawmakers represent us, build results-focused relationships with leaders in faith, business and labor, and help hundreds of local Muslim youth enter careers in media & politics where they shape public opinion and laws.

A survey found that almost half of Muslim students in California, ages 11 to 18, have experienced bullying because of their religion, race, ethnicity or other bias-based reasons. The survey also found the following disturbing trends:

On Saturday, November 9, 2013 at its annual 'Bill of Rights Dinner,' the ACLU of Washington honored CAIR-Washington State's team of tireless volunteers, interns, staff, & board members with the 2013 'Civil Libertarian Award' for being a "forceful voice for fair treatment and respect for the rights of Muslims." The event was held at the Seattle Waterfront Marriott.
